Financial Times report is an attempt to create misunderstandings in the Baloch freedom struggle. (BLF)

Balochistan: Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) spokesman Gwahram Baloch, commenting on a British magazine Financial Times’ published report, said that the report claiming that China is in contact with the Balochistan’s “Tribal separatists” to provide security for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for last five years. In his statement Gwahram Baloch said that all the pro-independence political parties and armed organizations are working against the Chinese investment and other exploitive projects. Due to the resistance most of the Chinese projects are doomed to fail. We want to clarify that if any party or individual, that the report hints at, which is connected to the national movement, attempted to have secret contacts will lose Baloch nation’s support that will lead to its/his political demise.

Gwahram Baloch added that the report is a Pakistan and China’s joint effort to create misunderstanding within the Baloch national movement. He further said that few days ago similar efforts were made by the Chinese ambassador Zhu Zhang in his interview in which he claimed that the Baloch resistance is no longer a threat to the CPEC. Even the Pakistan’s army has accepted that they are facing resistance in the routes of CPEC and numerous soldiers and Frontier Work Organizations (FWO) personnel have been killed. Last year Baloch sarmachaars (Balochi word for freedom fighters) of BLF arrested twenty FWO workers and executed them.

?Secondly, this report is an attempt to portray the Baloch national movement a tribal one. However the world is aware of the truth that Baloch masses, belonging to the all walks of life, are part of the struggle.

Gwahram Baloch further clarified that BLF, as responsible national organization, has a clear stance that Balochistan is an occupied region in which foreign investment or occupier’s projects are against international laws and Baloch, as a nation, will continue to resist such projects and investments which are being run without the consent of Baloch nation or are a threat to Baloch national identity.

China is the biggest investor in Balochistan that has invested a large amount of capital to initiate the exploitive projects under the name of CPEC in order to fulfill its colonial and expansionist ambitions. Due to the Chinese projects, not only the Baloch national identity is in danger but the peace and stability of the region is at stake as well. China is trying to establish its military presence in Balochistan for not only having control over Strait of Hormuz but to fight with India and strengthen its influence in the Middle East and African countries. The sea ports in Djibouti, Gwadar and Sri Lanka are part of the Chinese design. The success in Gawadar will empower China to have the stranglehold on the entire region and turning Baloch into a permanent minority by settling a large number of foreigners on Baloch land.

Gwahram Baloch further said that it is needless to explain that China, with its expansionist policies and exploitive projects, is busy to tilt the balance of power in its favor and realize it ambitions to become a super power. Today, due to the Chinese projects, thousands of Baloch have been martyred, disappeared and forcefully migrated. Several towns and villages, in the routes of these projects, have been wiped out either by aerial bombardment or ground military operations. No home is secure from the state terrorism in Balochistan.

He said that our operations, against CPEC including other such projects, will continue as per the timing and strategy. They will not be lessened in any way. In Balochistan, especially on the routes of CPEC project, the army outposts on every five kilometers and their brutality against the Baloch are self evident that they are facing an intense resistance and all Chinese projects are suspended in the air. The recently held Gwadar-Expo’s failure proves the fact that Pakistani and Chinese cohesion is dying out because of the Baloch national movement.

Gwahram Baloch has said it is the responsibility of all Baloch parties and organizations to bring forth their views on the report so that the news agency’s attempt to create discord among Baloch forces to be thwarted completely.
